The history of Schloss Atzenbrugg dates back to the early 12C. During the 17C it was owned by the Klosterneuburg Monastery. After WWII the castle fell into disrepair, but has since been extensively rennovated and converted into a museum for Franz Schubert and his friends, with over 250 exhibits to the life and times of the composer.
