Tulln is the principle town within Niederösterreich region of Austria. The full name of the town is 'Tulln an der Donau' (Tulln on the Danube). The city has a large number of parks and open spaces giving it the nickname 'Blumenstadt' (City of Flowers).
Tulln was settled in pre-Roman times, making it one of the oldest cities in Austria, but gained significance during the Roman period as a fort town, known then as Comagena (Comagenis). Among the sights in Tulln is the Nibelungen-Brunnen (Nibelungen Fountain) which marks Tulln as the place where Atilla the Hun supposedly saw and proposed to Gudrun.
A short distance southwest of Tulln an der Donau is the market town of Atzenbrugg, whose major landmark is the Schloss Atzenbrugg (Atzenbrugg Castle)
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
