The Citadel is a major tourist attraction in Budapest. It is at the top of Gellért Hill and has commanding views over the city. This panorama taken from outside the entrance to the Citadel itself shows the commanding view over Budapest.Entrance to the Citadel covers entrance to the Citadel Bunker. Part of the Citadel has been converted into a hotel. Much of the WWII feel remains with narrow bare corridors and small rooms. There is a macabre photographic exhibition in the hotel charting the effects of war.
The Liberty Statue (Szabadság Szobor) stands next to the Citadel.

10 minutes walk from the Elizabeth Bridge (Erzsébet hid), or from the St. Gellért Square (Szt. Gellért tér) up Gellért Hill.
