Gellért Hill (Gellérthegy)

Gellért Hill (Gellérthegy) is the largest hill in Budapest that rises sharply up form the banks of the Danube on the West side of the river. Many tourist attractions and sights of interest are found around this area including the Citadel and Wax Museum in the Bunker, Liberty Statue, Cave Church, Gellert Hotel, Gellert Baths and the Statue to St. Gellért

This panorama is taken near a cross on the hill and shows a good view over the Danube to Eastern part of Budapest where Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd) crosses the river.

Budapest Travel and Transport
Metro: M3 (Ferenciek tere, Kálvin tér and then walk over Elizabeth Bridge (Erzsébet hid) or Liberty Bridge respectively).
Trolleybus: 18, 19, 47, 49 from St. Gellért Square (Szt. Gellért tér)
Bus: 27 to Móricz Zsigmond ter
