Daonaukraftwerk Freudenau (Freudenau Power plant) is on the banks of the south of central . Construction on the power plant by Österreichische Donaukraftwerke AG started in 1992 and finished in 1998. This panorama shows turbine 1 of Daonaukraftwerk Freudenau.

The dam contains 6 Kaplan turbine tubes, each 7.5m wide, feeding the turbines. Each turbine can generate 30,300 kW, rotating at 65.2 rpm. Running above the dam is a pedestrian bridge and to the right of it are two ships locks for vessels up to 275m long and 24m wide.
