The Pantheon of Rome was built in 128 and dedicated to all the gods (pan+theon). In 609 the Pantheon was converted into a church (S Maria ad Martyres) and in and in 734 pope Gregory III lined the roof with bronze helping to preserve it. Today, the Pantheon is one of the top tourist attractions in Rome with hundreds of thousands of people visiting each year. The dome of the Pantheon is a little larger than the dome of .
