House of Vestals in Roman Forum - FURTHER INFORMATION
House of Vestals in Roman Forum - Rome visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'House of Vestals in Roman Forum' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Roma.
The House of Vestals (Atrium Vestae) stood at the eastern end of the Roman Forum (Foro Magnum) in Ancient Rome. It was the residence for the Vestal Virgins who served at the Temple of Vesta. In this area was also the Regia, which was originally the house of the Roman kings, later becoming the residence of the high priest of Roman religion, the Pontifex Maximus (a title now held by the Pope).
In this picture you can also see the Arch of Titus behind the viewing plaza and, in the other direction, are the few remaining pillars of the Temple of Vesta, the Temple of Antonino and Faustina (now called San Lorenzo in Miranda Church) and the Temple of Romulus.
