Navua - FURTHER INFORMATION
Navua - Viti Levu visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Navua' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Viti Levu.
Navua lies next to Navua River on the southern coast of Viti Levu island in Fiji, about 30 minutes west of Suva. It is the nearest settlement of any size to Pacific Harbour Centre and one of the best beaches in Fiji.
Navua grew up during the colonial era growing sugar, and a sugar mill was built here in the 1800's. The decline of this industry and closure of the mill in 1923 has affected the town, which is now slowly recovering as tourism in the area is increasing. Sugar was loaded onto ships docked at the Naitonitoni Pier, a short distance from Navua.
