Ashover Rock - FURTHER INFORMATION
Ashover Rock - Ashover visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Ashover Rock' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Derbyshire.
Ashover Rock is also known as 'The Fabrick'. This rocky outcrop is just outside Ashover village, near the east side of the Peak District, between Matlock and Chesterfield in Derbyshire, England.
At 299m above sea level, the Fabrick is the highest point in the area and, as this panorama from the top shows, the views from the top are stunning. On a clear day the views extend over Chesterfield to the suburbs of Sheffield as well as into the counties of Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire. It is said that, in the right conditions with a telescope, it is possible to see Lincoln Cathedral from the top of Ashover Rock.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Ashover is about 7 miles south of Chesterfield and 4 miles north of Matlock on the A632 and then B6036 roads.
