Nadi - FURTHER INFORMATION
Nadi - Nadi visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Nadi' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Viti Levu.
Nadi has a claim to being the tourism capital of Fiji. The town and municipality are on the western edge of Viti Levu, the largest of the Fijian islands. Nadi contains the largest number of hotels, motels and other holiday accommodation in Fiji. Nadi also contains the only international airport in the islands and is therefore the international gateway to Fiji.
The Nadi township is actually quite recent, being established in 1947. Today a lot of the economy comes from tourism, both from people staying around Nadi and transiting to other destinations or islands. Nadi itself contains about 20 hotels suitable for various budgets. It is an important transit point to the popular Mamanuca Group of islands.
Things to do in and around Nadi include the western mud-flat beaches, day trips to the Nausori highlands to the east, Sabeto and Sigatoka valleys, historical Veseisei village and Koroyanitu National Park. Other attractions include the Waqadra Botanical Gardens and Sleeping Giant Gardens which contain a spectacular orchid collection.
