View from Staff Building at QVS - FURTHER INFORMATION

View from Staff Building at QVS - Suva visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'View from Staff Building at QVS' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Viti Levu.

Queen Victoria School (QVS) is an important school in Fiji. Founded in 1906 in Suva to educate the children of village chiefs, the school moved north to Matavatucou in the 1950's. The buildings cover a hillside overlooking Tailevu Point and Qoma Island on the east coast of Viti Levu.

From this vantage point Qoma Island can be seen near the shore, partly occluded by the trees. The picture shows a view of the surrounding hills, and in the distance on the horizon is the outline of Ovalau Island.

Lawaki and Matavatucou are about 51km north of Nausori, and about 60km from Suva. A bus runs from Suva through to this area. Much of the last 20 km is on dirt track.
