Mickleham is a small village in Surrey, England, between Dorking and Leatherhead, nest to a Roman road south of London. Mickleham appears in the Doomsday book of 1086 as both Michelham and Micleham. Within the village is a picturesque old church known as St. Michaels Church and two old pubs, 'The Running Horses' and 'The King William IV', both popular with walkers.
Next to, and considered part of, Mickleham is Box Hill, one of several Sites of Special Scientific Interest in the area. The River Mole runs near the village, at times vanishing into the chalk hills for a distance before re-surfacing again.
