Gokyo Ri, also known as Gokyo Peak, is one of the mountains in the Khumbu (Everest) region in the Himalayan Mountains, and a popular trekking destination in Nepal. Gokyo Ri rises above the western side of the Ngozumpa Glacier, one of the largest glaciers in the whole of the Himalayas, to a height of 5357m. From the top of this mountain one can see 5 surrounding 8,000 metre peaks of Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Makalu, and Nuptse, offering one of the best panoramic views in the Himalayas.
The Gokyo trek ends at the top of Gokyo Ri. Another alternative route starts near the southern tip of Ngozumpa Glacier next to Taujun Lake. This route heads east over the east over the Cho La pass (5420m) where it joins the Everest Base Camp trek.
