Margaret Island (Margitsziget, Margit-sziget) lies in the middle of the River Danube. The south end of the island is linked to Margit Hid, and the north to Árpád Bridge. Margit Island is mostly covered by open parkland. It contains a number of significant sights and attractions and is a popular recreational area for tourists as well as locals.
