Wengen is one of the most popular skiing villages in the Jungfrau skiing area of Switzerland. Access to the ski slopes is via train to Kleine Scheidegg or cable car to Männlichen. At peak seasons the population of the village swells to around 10,000. Wengen has hotels to cater from all tastes and budgets, from simple chalets to 5-star hotels and health spas. The main street is lined with numerous shops, bars, clubs and restaurants and there is a Tourist Information Centre near to the station. Wengen is car-free, all visitors arriving by mountain cog train from Lauterbrunnen or Kleine Scheidegg.

Some of the hotels provide their own ski hire. This Jungfrau Ski page contains more information about the resort and other villages in the area, as well as linking panoramas taken around the area to an interactive piste map.
