Chipstead Station provides a rapid link between London and Chipstead in Surrey, with trains arriving from London Bridge and Victoria within about 40 minutes. This places Chipstead within the London commuter belt and the property prices here are among some of the highest in the region. Trains from here continue to Epsom Downs. A plaque on the station wall states that the maximum penalty fine is 40 shillings.
