Panorama of the Water Tower on Margaret Island in Budapest. This octagonal tower was built in 1911, is 57m high and has acted as both a water tower and a lookout tower. It now functions as an exhibition space. It is close to the Danubius Grand Hotel Margitsziget.

Margaret Island (Margitsziget, Margit-sziget) in Budapest lies in the middle of the River Danube. The south end of the island is linked to Margit Hid, and the north to Árpád Bridge. Margit Island is mostly covered by open parkland. It contains a number of significant sights and attractions and is a popular recreational area for tourists visiting Budapest on holiday as well as locals.

Budapest Travel and Transport:
These travel directions take you to the south entrance to Margaret Island (Margitsziget).
Metro: M3 (Nyugati pályaudvar) then trolleybus 4, 6 down Szent István körút.
Trolleybus: 2, 2a (terminates on the Pest side of Margit hid), 4, 6 (cross the bridge)
