St Katherine's Church is open to the public every day. The church dates from the 13C and is the oldest church in Merstham. The nave is 13m long, and the aisles are a little longer. The font is from the 12C, made of Purbeck marble. Also within the church is a stone effigy of a civilian, possibly Nicholas Jamys, which dates from the 1420's. The chancel contains a brass or John Ballard in civilian dress and his wife. This is the second church to stand on the site, and n earlier church is mentioned in the Doomsday Book.
