Mercer's Country Park encloses an old quarry pit between Mertsham and Nutfield in Surrey. Much of the pit is now filled with water to form Mercer's Lake. A public footpath circumnavigates the edge of the lake and it is used by anglers and also by the Aqua Sports Company who are based here. In the summer months the lake is very popular for all sorts of water sports, including sailing, canoing and wind surfing. There is a slipway down into the lake at the southern end.

Mercer's Lake is an important nature reserve. The lake is populated with large carp which can often be spotted in the shallow water near the edge. It is also rich with birdlife with barn owls, Kingfishers, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Goldcrests often being seen here. Occasionally visitors may also be greeted by the strange site of Ring-necked Parakeets, which have established a local colony here from escaped or released birds. Similar flocks of parakeets can also be found in Richmond Park and on Hampstead Heath in London.
