Kimmeridge is a small rural village near to the coast in Dorset. It lies between Lulworth Cove and Swanage, and is most well known for the beach, fossil beds, hill walking and coastal path around Kimmeridge Bay. The South West Coast Path runs through Kimmeridge and during the summer months this is a popular place for hill walking.

Some of the land around Kimmeridge is owned by the army, who have army ranges here. At times the forces carry out exercises with live ammunition. At that time red flags are flown on the hills and the paths are closed to the public. These exercises also close a number of the surrounding roads and Broad Bench, a popular surfing spot by Kimmeridge Bay. The number of days that the road is closed has increased following closure of bases in Germany and during the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kimmeridge lies east of Weymouth, west of Swanage and south of Wareham. This road links East Lulworth and the B3070 road with Steeple. Closed to the public during army exercises.
