St Peter's Church - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken outside St Peter's Church in Brighton. It was not possible to get inside the church when this picture was taken in April 2009 as it had been closed and declared unsafe due to falling masonry. This picture was taken from the south side of the church, and shows some of the surrounding buildings in Brighton.

St Peter's Church was an Anglican church in Brighton. Officially known as the Church of St Peter, it was built between 1824-28 and was a arguably one of the finest examples of pre-Victorian Gothic Revival style church buildings in England. The original design by Sir Charles Barry included a spire, but this was never built. St Peter's Church acted as the parish church of Brighton from 1873.
Currently St Peter's church is closed and the Diocesan Pastoral Committee have sent their recommendation to the Church Commissioners that St Peter's be made redundant. Inside the church is a large pipe organ built in 1888 and similar to the one in the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Truro, Cornwall.
