This panorama shows the view of Loch Chon, taken from the southern end of the loch near to the small peninsula known as Ceann Mòr. In the north, near the middle of the loch, is Heron Island. The loch is in the Balmacara Hills and surrounded by the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. It is a popular place for bank fishing for brown trout, perch and pike. Nearby are holiday cottages at Frenich Farm.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Loch Chon is about 33 miles north of Glasgow on the A81 and then B289. It lies north of Loch Ard and south of Loch Arklet and Loch Katrine. To the east is Loch Lomond.
