Ceann Mòr, from where this panorama was taken, is a small peninsula at the southern end of Loch Chon in the Balmacara Hill of Stirlingshire, ccr4205,Scotland. The loch lies north of Loch Ard and south of Loch Arklet and Loch Katrine. To the east is the famous Loch Lomond. Nearby villages include Kinlochard, Stronachlachar and Inversnald. The loch is surrounded by the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park.
Just south of Ceann Mòr are the Linne Dhubh narrows where water drains from the loch and flow south into Loch Ard.

Loch Chon is about 33 miles north of Glasgow on the A81 and then B289.
