The South West region of Western Australia is just 2 hours driving south of Perth, and a major holiday destination for those living in Perth. The region contains many pristine sandy beaches, stunning coastline, old-growth forests and internationally renown vineyards and world class surfing. The region is broken up into 5 districts of Bunbury, Bridgetown, Margaret River, Pemberton and Albany. Each has a unique set of attractions, luxurious hotels and other places to stay, and plenty of things to do. On the drive down visit the Busselton Jetty, the longest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, and see the Underwater Observatory at the end.
Visit Dunsborough and Cape Naturaliste full of amazing beaches at Eagle Bay and Yallingup. Dunsborough is home to some fantastic beaches and a popular holiday resort. Browse the boutique shops, art galleries like the Christian Fletcher Gallery and see amazing pictures taken around the area.
Spend time tasting the wines of the vineyards clustered around Margaret River, go horse riding in the mountains or walking along the coastline. In the winter, hide away in comfy cabins with log fires and dine in luxury at the vineyard's restaurants.
Head to Albany for great diving and snorkeling. Dive on HMAS Swan Dive Wreck or go whale watching along the coast as far as Augusta on the Indian Ocean. Explore the Blackwood River with canoing, walking and riding, or experience the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk 40 meters above the forest floor in the Nornalup Inlet.
