Cape Naturaliste is one of the stunning spots of natural beauty in the South West region of Western Australia. Lying on the western edge of Geographe Bay, it is well known for dramatic coastline, pristine beaches and excellent water sports opportunities. The cape is home to the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, whose best know beaches include Bunkers Bay Beach, Eagle Bay and Meelup Beach. At the end of the cape is a famous lighthouse and on the eastern side are Sugarloaf Rock and Castle Rock.
The region is well known for it's wines. The local Cape Naturaliste Vineyard lies in a picturesque valley behind Smith's Beach near Yallingup. The surrounding Margaret River area is well known internationally for wine growing and visitors are able to visit the vineyards, which often have wine tasting and serve excellent food in their restaurants. At the base of the cape are the towns of Dunsborough and Yallingup, where visitors will find numerous hotels and other types of holiday accommodation. The area is very popular with visitors from Perth.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Cape Naturaliste is north of Dunsborough, then main road onto the cape is Cape Naturaliste Road and from this side roads lead to various beaches and coves. If coming from Yallingup take Caves Road to Dunsborough and proceed as above. The cape is about 300km from Perth.
