Parliament House (Országház) - Rear - FURTHER INFORMATION
Parliament House (Országház) - Rear - Budapest visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Parliament House (Országház) - Rear' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Central Hungary.
The Parliament House (Országház) in Budapest was built between 1885 and 1902. It stands in Kossuth Lajos Square as a symbol of Hungary's independence and is a popular tourist attraction in Budapest.
This panoramic was taken from rear of Parliament House (Országház) building in Budapest on the banks of the Danube. It was not possible to get far enough back to take in the whole building. A better view is available across the river on the Buda side.
Looking north from here you can see Margit hid and Margit Island. Directly across the river, in Batthyany ter in Buda, are the two towers of St. Anne's Church. The next tall tower south down the far bank belongs to the Reformed Church in Szilagyi Dezso ter. The prominant spire on the top on the skyline belong to Matthias Church (Mátyás Templom), one of the main tourist attractions in the Castle District. This is partially surrounded by the Fisherman's Bastion. This hill continues south to Buda Castle (another major tourist attraction). South of this is Gellert Hill (Gellérthegy) and the Citadel, but this is partially hidden by the Parliament building as the river curves. The next bridge south of Parliament is the Chain Bridge (Széchenyi lánchíd)
