Sandpit at Moyles Court - FURTHER INFORMATION

Sandpit at Moyles Court - New Forest visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Sandpit at Moyles Court' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Hampshire.

The Sandpit at Moyles Court is a popular local attraction during the summer months. It forms the steep side to a natural sand hill neart to the villages of Ellingham and Blashford, a little north of Ringwood in the New Forest in Hampshire. At the top of the hill is an ancient bowl barrow with stunning views over the Avon Valley. Good views are also possible from the top of the sandpit.

The area is known as Moyles Court after a local country house and there is a small stream and ford nearby in which children often play. This little stream feeds into the River Avon just west of Ellingham, which then flows south to Christchurch. There are numerous walks in the surrounding area.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE

Take the A338 (Salisbury Rad) north from Ringwood heading for Salisbury. About 1.5 miles down the road turn right into Ellingham Drove and continue for about a mile to the Ford. From Bournemouth (and Poole) take the A338 to Ringwood and continue as above. Parking available on the south side of the Sandpit.
