Gwanggyosan is a small mountain bordering Suwon and and Yongin in the Gyeonggi province of South Korea. Rising to a height of 582m north of the city, the mountain offers good views over Suwon, Yongin and Bundang and is a popular walk from the Gwanggyo Reservoir in Suwon.
Gwanggyosan is part of a wider Gwanggyosan Range that extends north to Uiwang, Gwacheon, Seoul and Seongnam. It plays an important role in the life of Suwon and the citie's 'jinsan' or Guardian Mountain. According to 'pungsu' (a version of Chinese feng shui), a well placed city has a jinsan to the north and an open river and vista to the south. Gwanggyosan protects Suwon from harsh northerly winds and south of the city are flat farms and paddies in Gwonseon-gu and Yeongtong-gu, Chilbo-san.
The mountain is sometimes called 'Kwangkyosan'.
