The Tancheon River is a 35.6km long river in South Korea that starts in the city of Yongin in Gyeonggi-do and flows through Seongnam and then between the Songpa-gu and Gangnam-gu districts of Seoul before enter the Han River next to the Olympic Stadium. Within Greater Seoul the river also flows through Bundang Central Park, where there are numerous footbridges, cycle paths and sports equipment. This park is very popular with the residents of Seoul.
Along the stretch of the Tancheon River in the Seongnam area there are five water parks which are open to the public free of charge in July and August. The parks are very popular with families, with various amenities, picnic tables and changing rooms. among the water parks are Yatap-dong, in front of Manna Church, Jeongja-dong, Geumgok-dong and Imae-dong.
Numerous other streams in Gangnam-gu flow into the Tancheon, and the Yangjaecheon, shown in this picture, is one of these. The Yangjaecheon flows for 5.5km from Gwanaksan through Seocho-gu, Gangnam-gu and Songpa-gu before entering the Tancheon.
