The courtyard at the rear of the Great Synagogue (Dohány Synagogue, Dohány utcai Zsinagóga) contains memorials to the Jews who died under German persecution during World War II. In this panoramic image you can see several granite stones with the names of those killed by the Nazis engraved upon them. Behind this is a glass monument with flames.
Entrance to the Synagogue complex is ticketed, and covers the inside of the Great Synagogue itself as well as access to the National Jewish Museum (Orszagos Zsido Vallasi es Torteneti Gyujtemeny).
The Great Synagogue is a short walk from the National Museum.
