As the name suggests, West Panorama viewpoint looks west over Edinburgh from Edinburgh Castle. This viewpoint, with it's small battery of 4 cannon, is on the castle walls adjacent to the National War Museum in the Middle Ward. The view looks down over the West End of Edinburgh and Festival Square. To the northwest is part of Princes Street Gardens and on the edge of the gardens stand St Cuthbert Church and St John's Church, both of which are open to the public.

Travel Directions and Getting There:
Bus: 24 to Lawnmarket.
Walk: Edinburgh Castle is at the western end of the Royal Mile, which leads down east to the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Scottish Parliament. This is about 15 minutes walk from [[4324,Waverley Station]] and the [[4325,Tourist Information Centre]].
