It is a small village with less than 400 permanent residents that offers a slice of traditional Mallorcan life. The mountain slopes around Estellencs are terraced and still cultivated today. The narrow village streets are lined with old buildings, small cafes and restaurants. At the end of a narrow, winding road leading from the village to the coast is the Cala Estellencs, a small cove that once acted as the village port with a waterfall fed by fountain springs. Combined with the stunning coastline, Estellencs is one of the most beautiful villages on Mallorca.Estellencs has several small, rural hotels, making it an ideal base from which to explore the Tramuntana mountains. Local Hotels include the Hotel Nord, Hotel Maristel and Sa Plana Petit Hotel. Cycling and walking here are both very popular when the weather is cooler. There are numerous trails nearby both up into the hills and down along the coast. The roads here wind dramatically hugging the coast leading to spectacular viewpoints like the Mirador de ses Animes by the Torre Verger (Verger Tower). Estellencs is close to Banyalbufar, Esporles and Es Port des Canonge. A real treat is Cala Banyalbufar, an excellent cove for snorkeling with a small pebble beach and beautiful waterfall, ideal for washing off after a swim. Travel Directions and Getting There: From Palma take the Ma10 road either west around the coast through Andratx (45km) or north through the mountains and [[1174,Esporles]] (30km).
