The Hungarian Television Building in Budapest was the location of the riots in 2006. The building stands on the edge of Szabadsag tér (Freedom Square), which contains a Memorial of the Russian Army in front of the US Embassy.
Szabadság tér is a short walk from Parliament House and the St Stephen's Basilica (Szent István-bazilika) on Szent István tér. It is also close to the Budapest' s famous Chain Bridge.
