Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd) in Budapest links two areas of interest to tourists visiting Budapest. This panoramic images was taken from the middle of Liberty Bridge, giving views up and down the River Danube.
The most prominent landmark visible is Gellert Hill (Gellérthegy) on the top of which you can see Liberty Statue (Szabadság Szobor) next to the Citadel (another great place for panoramic views of Budapest). Gellert Hill is also the location of the famous Cave Church in Budapest.
Overlooking the banks of the Danube is the 4* Hotel Gellért with the associated Gellért Baths. Hotel Gellért is a great place to relax after walking around Budapest for a day, and the Gellért Baths are world famous, among the best Budapest has to offer. There is a lovely fountain in front of Hotel Gellért.
The prominent building just to the left of Liberty Bridge on the Buda side is the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BUTE).
The next bridge upriver from Szabadság híd is Erzsebet hid where, on the Pest side, you will find the Inner City Parish Church (Belvarosi Plebaniatemplom) and the Hungarian Orthodox Church (Magyar ortodox templom). The next bridge south of Liberty Bridge is Petőfi Bridge (Petőfi híd).
