Stirling Station is close to Stirling city center, and within walking distance of the main shopping areas and tourist attractions. There are direct trains from here north to Perth, Inverness and Aberdeen, south west to Glasgow, and east to Edinburgh. The station is a Category A listed building.
The station is about 5 minutes walk from Stirling Tourist Informatin Centre, and 10 minutes walk from Stirling Castle. Just outside the station is the main bus depot with local and regional buses.
The Forthside Bridge crossing over the station is new, opening in the beginning of May 2009. The pedestrian bridge links the city center with new developments on the banks of the River Forth. The bridge is 114m and crosses the seven railway tracks, service road and car park next to the station.
