The Stirling Bowling Club was instituted in 1854. It occupies a lot about half way between Holy Trinity Church and the Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum on Albert Place in Stirling. Over the years the clubhouse has grown to meet the needs of the club. Prior to this local bowlers had had to travel as far as Bridge of Allan for bowling. Over the year the club has collected numerous trophies, now displayed in a new cabinet within the club building. Many are awarded annually to winners of various competitions.
In 1977, some 123 years after it opened, the Stirling Bowling Club instituted a womens only section. Since then the Ladies Section has performed very well at both county and national levels.
