Ribeira is the historic center of Porto, once the focal point for shipments from all over the world, and the neighborhood is located on the banks of the Douro River. The old buildings here are vividly painted and beautifully decorated. There are numerous cafes and outdoor eating venues in which one can relax alongside of the river.
