Hill on Sleat Peninsula - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT
Panorama taken from the top of a hill next to Loch Dhughaill on the Sleat Penisula on Skye. The weather was closing in fast, the picture shows rain approaching over the Sound of Sleat from Scotland. From here there are great views along much of Sleat, and over to Strathaird and the Cullin Hills.

The Sleat Peninsula offers many walking opportunities and, from the tops of some of the hills, dramatic views. Walkers must be aware that weather conditions do change very rapidly on Skye. This hill is one of the highest points on the road across Sleat from Kilbeg to Tarskavaig. Once at Tarskavaig the road heads north, winding up the coast past Torr Gauscavaig to Ord, where the road then heads back inland up the Ord River valley to cross Sleat once again. It is a popular circular route for tourists in the summer.
TRAVEL DIRECTIONS AND GETTING THERE
Ferry: From Mallaig on Scottish mainland to Aramadale.
Road: Head north from Aramadale (south from Broadford) along the A851 to Kilbeg. Then take the narrow track over the Sleat Peninsula to Tarskavaig. This hill is almost half way across the peninsula.
