The Boating Lake is a popular attraction in Battersea Park during the summer months. The large lake wraps around three islands and is also a haven for birds and aquatic wildlife. Recent years have seen problems with algal blooms which have closed the lake for public use from time to time. Near one edge of the lake is the Pump House Gallery, which shows modern art and is open to the public (free). Also on the lake is the La Gondola al Parco restaurant.
