Fornells Watchtower - FURTHER INFORMATION

Fornells Watchtower - Menorca visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Fornells Watchtower' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Balearic Islands.

The watchtower overlooking Fornells and Fornells Bay in Menorca dates from the 16th century. It is all that remains of the castle that was built here to defend the bay from Barbary pirates. The rest of the castle was destroyed during the 18th century. In 1798 the British landed here when they invaded Menorca.

The tower is a popular local tourist attraction with fantastic panoramic views over the bay. From here it is possible Cavallería Cape to the west and Sa Mola forming the eastern side of the bay.

Fornells is about 33km from Cuitadella. Take the Me-1 to El Mercadal and then the Me-15 north and follow signs to Fornells down country lanes. Parking available at the end of Carrer de la Tramnuntana and then walk.
