The watchtower overlooking Fornells and Fornells Bay in Menorca dates from the 16th century. It is all that remains of the castle that was built here to defend the bay from Barbary pirates. The rest of the castle was destroyed during the 18th century. In 1798 the British landed here when they invaded Menorca.
The tower is a popular local tourist attraction with fantastic panoramic views over the bay. From here it is possible Cavallería Cape to the west and Sa Mola forming the eastern side of the bay.
