Sant Josep de sa Talaia - FURTHER INFORMATION
Sant Josep de sa Talaia - Ibiza visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Sant Josep de sa Talaia' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Balearic Islands.
The village of Sant Josep de sa Talaia (Sant Josep, San José) is an important village on Ibiza, on the road from Ibiza Town to San Antoni. The village has retained it's native roots and natural charm and avoided the modern ravages of modern tourism. Sant Josep is therefore often a location of choice with ex-pats settling in Ibiza. The village also has numerous holiday apartments and villas available.
Central to the village is Sant Josep church, whose white-washed building dating from 1731 stands on the main road. Around the church are various traditional lanes full of hidden restaurants, bars, cafes, art galleries, the ancient Ibicencan crafts school and shops. The village also has a school and medical services. What it lacks are thousands of tourists.
Those choosing to stay in Sant Josep will find a relaxed, slow and welcoming pace of life, full of tapas and local music with views down three sides of the island. It is within easy striking distance of both Ibiza Town and San Antoni, but better yet, is also within striking distance of much less visited beaches, hidden gems of the island like Cala Vedella, Cala Moli, Cala d'Hort, Cala Carbo and Es Cubells. Enjoy the day relaxing on one of the beaches and then return to Sant Josep for an evening meal and entertainment.
The full name of Sant Josep is 'Sant Josep de sa Talaia' (Spanish: San José Obrero). the name also applies to the municipality covering the western part of Ibiza.
