Sant Miquel de Balansat, called 'San Miguel de la Balensat' in Spanish, is a small, rural village near the north coast of Ibiza. The village is centered around the church and has a small museum. There are no large hotels in the area, but a few small 'agrotourism' hotels, holiday apartments and holiday villas.
Every Tuesday between May and October there are traditional dance demonstrations, performed by Colla de Balansat dance company in the church square. These have become a paid tourist attraction with live music, singers and dancers. The dances take place in the evening, between 6-7pm. Afterwards many retire to the local bars and cafes for a quiet drink.
Sant Miquel is a short drive from the pretty Port de San Miquel, which is good for snorkeling and swimming, and the Caves of C'an Marça (Cova de Can Marca). Other nearby beaches include Es Portitxol, Na Xamena and Calla Benirras, all at the end of country lanes.
