Pune is the eighth larges city in India and the second larges city in the state of Maharashtra after Mumbai. Pune is one of the major tourist destinations in India, full of spectacular gardens, museums, ancient temples, old historical buildings. It is also surrounded by ancient hill forts offering good panoramic viewpoints over the surrounding area. The history of Pune dates back over 1600 years, with 5th century dwellings found in the Pataleshwar caves.
