The Fortress of Isabela II on Menorca is also known as 'La Mola Fortress' after the La Mola headland on which it is built. The Spanish name is 'Fortalesa Isabel II'. The fortress was built between 1850 and 1875 forming a critical part of the defense of the island. The fortress is now a tourist attraction in the island, with entrance fees. Visitors can explore the various rooms and courtyards of the fortress.
