Malhargad hill fort one of the tourist attractions near Pune in Maharashtra, India. This was the last fortress built by Marathas, in about 1775, and was dedicated to the god Malhari. The hill fort is also known as 'Tarun Killa' (lit: 'young fort). It was built by Bhivrâo Yashvant and Krishnaji Mâdhavrâo Pânsê, a Peshwa Sardar and chief in charge of Tofkhana. The remains of a palace of Panse can be found within Sonori village nearby.
Malhargad Fort stands on the Sahyadri range, which splits into two branches of hills. The hill forts of Sinhagad, Purandar and Vajragad are on the same branch as Malhargad. On the other branch stand the hill forts of Rajgad and Torna.
