Plaza de la Font is near the eastern end of the Poble Espanyol (Spanish Village) attraction in Barcelona. As the name suggests, this square contains a fountain as well as various seating and a restaurant. Leading off the sqaure is carre Mercaders, a narrow alleyway lined with craft shops and gift shops.
Poble Espanyol, was built on the flanks of Montjuic for the 1929 Expo as an outdoor museum reflecting the different architectural styles of Spain. The architecture around the Plaza de la Font is from the Basque Country in northern Spain.
