Merlion Park is one of the tourist attractions in Singapore, where a large merlion, the national symbol of Singapore, overlooks the harbour. The Merlion statue found here acts as a massive fountain. On the far side of the bay in this picture is the Esplanade, where there is another promenade along the harbour. In the distance is a new Singapore Wheel, similar to the London Eye, which was still being built when this image was taken.
Sentosa Island has an even larger merlion statue, called The Merlion. This statue is 37m high and you can get a panoramic view over Sentosa from a viewing platform on the merlion's head.
