Innerwegen - Wengen Skiing - PHOTOGRAPHER COMMENT

Panorama taken while skiing down to Innerwengen from Kleine Scheidegg in Switzerland. The picture was taken early in the morning after a night of fresh snow fall giving the scenery a magical appearance. The sun is rising above Jungraujoch illuminating Männlichen at the end of the ridge above Wengen. There is low lying cloud in the valley.

Innerwegen - Wengen Skiing - FURTHER INFORMATION

Innerwegen - Wengen Skiing - Jungfrau visitor guide showing a virtual tour of 'Innerwegen - Wengen Skiing' linked to an interactive map with local and travel information. 360° panoramas from Bernese Oberland.

Innerwengen lies a short distance above Wengen on the ridge of the Lauterbrunnen Valley in Switzerland. This is the finish point of the Lauberhorn-Weltcup Abfahrt (Lauberhonr Worldcup Downhill) ski run which starts near the top of the Lauberhorn. It is most well known among visitors for Mary's Café, a traditional Swiss pine cabin serving a wide variety of food and drink. Relax here with great views of the Jungfraujoch and over to the Schilthorn and other mountains in the Jungfrau region.

In the summer months, Innerwengen is a short walk from Wengen through the woods, a deviation from the path leading up the mountain to Kleine Scheidegg. In the winter it is part of the Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen ski area, and the Innerwengen Chairlift takes skiers up to Allmend Station which is on the cog train route from Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Scheidegg.

As well as the being the finish point of the Lauberhorn World Cup Downhill run (black run 45), Innerwengen is also the finish point of the Lauberhorn Weltcup Slalom (black run 47), which starts at Allmend. Red runs from Allmend (46) and Wengernalp (43) also terminate here.

See the Jungfrau Skiing Map for more about skiing in the region, with a breakdown of the number and types of ski lifts, ski runs and connections. It also contains an interactive piste map with various 360° panoramas taken from the various skiing areas.
