Sant Tomás (Santo Thomas) lies on the south coast of Menorca between Cala en Porter and Cala de Santa Galdana. This is a fairly developed holiday resort with a long sandy beach, and several hotels and holiday apartment buildings. It is ideal for families looking for a quieter base on the island.
Behind the beach of Santo Thomas is a lovely promenade which starts at Hotel Victoria Playa and runs the whole length of the resort. The hotels and three supermarkets line the main road, so many of the hotel rooms boast ocean views. The resort offers a variety of water sports, sailing and tennis courts.
Nearby inland, up in Es Barranc de Binigaus ravine, are two of the most important ancient Neolithic sites in the Migjorn Gran region of Menorca. The closest to Sant Tomas are the Cova des Coloms, a natural open grotto on the easter side of Es Barranc de Binigaus ravine, some 24m high and 110m long and occupied by bats and pigeons. Further up the ravine is the Talaiot de Sant Agusti Vell.
