A popular way to visit Corfe Castle village is via steam train from Swanage. The train arrives at Corfe Castle Station where there is a small, free museum and numerous other exhibits. Next to the station are also pottery and masons workshops and an art gallery showing local works.

It is a short walk from the station to the village square and the entrance to the ruins of Corfe Castle itself, one of the most popular tourist attractions in this part of Dorset. The castle is managed by the National Trust, entrance is free to members of the Trust. The National Trust also runs a tea house and gift shop in the square. Nearby is another attraction, Corfe Model Village, which shows how the village and castle may have looked before it was destroyed in 1647. Also nearby is the church of Edward the Martyr and several pubs and restaurants.

The 62m gap hill on which Corfe Castle stands can clearly be seen in this picture. The line heads between this hill and the flank of East Hill, which rises to 103m and has an ancient tumulus on the top. The trail from Corfe Castle along the top of the ridge to Swanage is a popular walk in the summer.

Road: Corfe Castle lies on the A351, 5 miles west of Swanage and 4 miles south east of Wareham. Parking is very limited in the square, paid parking is available nearby.
